Hi! I’m Sarah…

…your new voice teacher

About

From singing songs as a child with my mom in the car to Carnegie Hall and opera companies around the globe, singing has been the constant thread running through my story - the love of my life. As a young student, growth did not come as quickly for me as it does for some. I struggled to translate the instruction my early teachers gave me into practical function in order to become the singer I knew in my heart I could be. Committed to improving, I was ultimately blessed to have many teachers and mentors come into my life who were able to provide the specificity I needed to understand how to reach my potential.

Today, I’m extremely grateful for my bumpy path. I’ve had many opportunities to sing professionally all over the world. A professional singing career is certainly great - however, more and more I see that the real gift is in the challenges along the way. I’m grateful for all of the lessons, otherwise not learned in those difficulties, that I can now share with others. I’m also grateful to the many teachers and mentors who held the light along my path until I could find my own way.

Today, I spend my time helping students find their voices, grow in confidence and become Smart Singers while continuing to sing professionally in Louisville, KY. I am also the Founder and Artistic Director of the Nevertheless Arts Ensemble, a group of female artists committed to expanding the artistic canon with the female voice. You can learn more about the exciting group of women who make up the Nevertheless Arts Ensemble by clicking here. As well, I’m so grateful to share this life not only with my amazing students, but with my wonderful husband Chris and Mabel our Wonder-Dog.

MAKE SOME NOISE.

I’m awesome. Ask anyone, especially my dog.

Sarah is a wonderful musician and teacher. Not only can she describe technique but demonstrate what she is asking for in language suited to a wide range of singers.

“Are you gonna finish that?”
